Submissions

The UWF Departments of English and Art and Design welcome submissions of original art and poetry in response to the experience and prompts of the UWF Poetry and Art Nature Trail.

For Poetry:

Submit a maximum of 5 pages of poetry to Professor Jonathan Fink at jfink@uwf.edu. The poems may be included in the body of the email or as a MWord or PDF attachment. Also, please identify the prompt to which you are responding and also include a short bio of approximately 100 words. Submitters are also encouraged to include an author photograph taken while on the trail to utilize on the website.

For Art:

Submit a maximum of 5 digital images of artwork to Professor Joseph Herring at jherring@uwf.edu. The images should be attached to the email and formatted as .tiff or .jpeg files. Also, please identify the prompt to which you are responding and also include a short bio of approximately 100 words. Submitters are also encouraged to include an artist photograph taken while on the trail to utilize on the website.

Please note that the editors of this site will request publication permission in writing from the parents or guardians of any individual under the age of 18 prior to the inclusion of any work created by someone under 18.

Poets and artists retain all rights to their work featured here. They may requests its removal from the site at any time and/or pursue its publication elsewhere, subject to the terms of the outside publication. The editors also retain the right not to include work submitted to the site if it does not fit the site guidelines.

The opinions and speech expressed on the UWF Poetry and Art Trail companion website are solely those of the published authors and artists and do not represent the opinions or speech of the University of West Florida, its employees, or the editors of the website. The editors of the website are committed to a participatory publication model, so long as submitted work complies with site guidelines.
