Abigail Hartley – “Division”

Division

Leaving the familiar, to only again return.
I take this given time to benefit and learn.
With philosophies evolving and markets unjust,
The living world speaks of no complaints, none in disgust.
So, as I carry on my journey, one with no goal,
The urban life escapes from my grasp without my control.
Unlike the city’s frantic pace, here, time moves in rhythmic beats.
No confined spaces, free-of-structured streets.
A sea of soothing sounds erases the pollution of noise.
The natural world unveils that man is made through law and choice,
When I decide to go back, I’ll turn around in delight.
Because even in the division, I am certain everything will be alright.
